24 Apr How to Care for Tactical Uniforms
Wives of law enforcement officials will agree, tactical uniforms are difficult to clean! Because they see a lot of action, they can be a complete mess. Think stains that seem impossible to remove and the stinging odor of gunpowder. If only uniforms can clean themselves, life would certainly be better. Unfortunately, you have to face reality and deal with your laundry basket full of tactical uniforms Las Vegas. To help you out, here are some great tips to try.
Make vinegar your new best friend
Vinegar is not just a condiment. It works effectively against nasty odors. If you want your tactical uniforms to smell clean, add a cup of white vinegar while your uniforms are soaking in your washing machine. Let it sit for half an hour. If you are using a top-loader, leave the top open for at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, for front-loaders, use your washing machine’s “extra soak” feature. Add the vinegar directly and proceed washing your uniforms normally.
Get some help from baking soda
If vinegar isn’t enough, then use baking soda. While washing your clothes with regular detergent, simply add half a cup of baking soda directly into the basin of your laundry machine.
If all else fails, use ammonia
Desperate times call for desperate measures. If both vinegar and baking soda can’t do the job, then it’s time to bring in the big guns. Wash your tactical uniforms in hot water and add a cup of ammonia. This trick gets out all the smells without causing your gear to shrink.
Clean your laundry machine regularly
If you never clean the machine that does all the cleaning, how do you expect it to do its job efficiently? You may not be aware of it but your laundry machine needs some caring too. So every month, be sure to clean it out. There are plenty of do-it-yourself ways to clean your machine but there are also pre-packaged cleaners available in the market.
